Firemaster is proud to be aligned with fire etc. Emergency Training Centre in Vermilion, Alberta in a joint venture agreement to allow us to deliver this course in Red Deer, Alberta. We currently offer this program in Red Deer two times per year. One intake in the spring and another in the fall. A third intake may be added for the 2007 training year.

Over the next three to five years, some of Canada’s largest municipal fire departments are expected to hire several hundred fire fighters. As the first wave of baby boomers reaches retirement age, more departments are seeking recruits who have already been trained for entry level positions.

This program equips graduates with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Standard 1001 Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Standard 1001 Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications – an internationally recognized credential. Our curriculum exceeds the requirement set out by the NFPA and includes more practice runs and other hands-on skills development.

This program also provides qualifications in NFPA 472 Dangerous Goods First Responder and NFPA 1051 Wildland Fire Fighter. Together, these credentials prepare graduates for a wide range of emergency response duties.

Our graduates are employed across Canada. Typical starting salaries range from $35,000 to $38,000 for a probationary municipal fire fighter. Graduates have also found related positions in the private sector.

Within Firemaster, many employees are graduates of the Fire Fighter Training Program.
