Firemasters one-day LEL/ Atmospheric Gas Detection Course is designed for personnel working with or near flammable substances in the oil and gas industry. The oil and gas industry has numerous hazards located on-site that have the potential for worker injury and/or property damage. Solids, liquids, and gases are often found around the oil and gas industry in complex mixtures of many different products. Products that are produced can be toxic, flammable, corrosive or radioactive. Hazard Assessments and Control Programs are essential procedures before work can commence in order to protect the worker and everyone on site

 

The LEL/ Atmospheric Gas Detection course includes an introduction to flammable substances, principles of flammable gas/vapor detection, care and preparation of combustible gas monitors, as well as interpreting combustible gas readings and implementing required control measures. This course is designed to give the worker a better understanding of where to find these potentially dangerous flammable substances, and proper detection practices using a gas monitor.
