Emergency First Aid

This course provides simple First Aid & CPR techniques taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the home or workplace. The course covers skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for adults, CPR, and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission.

Emergency First Aid is a basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home.  Included are the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. This course meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid; exceeding competitors’ standards by including injury preven­tion content, CPR and AED. Topics that will be covered include:

 

  • Preparing to respond
  • The EMS system
  • Check, Call, Care
  • Airway emergencies
  • Breathing and circulation emergencies
  • First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Wound care
  • CPR-A / AED

6.5–8 hours in class.

Taught by a Red Cross First Aid Instructor.

100% attendance, skills demonstration and 75% min. passing grade on written exam to complete course.

3-year certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR Level A and AED.
