Red Cross First Aid Courses

Work Place Emergency First Aid (W.E.F.A) & Out of Jurisdiction W.E.F.A Certification

Workplace Emergency First Aid (W.E.F.A) & Out of Jurisdiction W.E.F.A Certification

Canadian Red Cross First Aid Services is pleased to announce that the Workers’ Compensation Board of BC has granted equivalency to the Red Cross Workplace Emergency First Aid (WEFA) course. WCB in British Columbia recognizes Canadian Red Cross WEFA program. WEFA is now considered equivalent to the Occupational First Aid Level 1 certificate in British Columbia. The Red Cross Workplace Emergency First Aid program is a modified version of the national Emergency First Aid course, designed to meet the needs of BC workplaces.

At Firemaster we offer the two day Standard First Aid Program, and combine the WEFA program into the first day. The second day incorporates the remaining portions of the Standard First Aid course that were not covered in the WEFA course. This allows participants to gain there Standard First Aid certification that is required by most employers to gain employment,  as well as the Out of Jurisdiction Workplace Emergency First Aid certification that is required to work on BC worksites. By taking the Standard First Aid two day course that includes WEFA, you will gain 4 certifications: Standard First Aid (AB certification), WEFA (BC Out of Jurisdiction certification), CPR-C and AED training.
